Sanding and taking apart

I have this little idea of what to do for the boys room floor, but I am not ready to share it yet....in case it is a total bomb!!! This little idea requires a lot of sanding, but the weather was gorgeous this past weekend and I can think of a lot of way worse ways to spend my day.

N loves playing with his construction vehicles, or Working Trucks, as he calls them. The proper way to play with them is to get at eye level, on your belly, and partially under the deck. This is great until a bug decides to ruin his party!

Matt spent most of his day taking off the deck boards. Such a giant job as you can see from the container of screws. Next project is getting rid of the hot tub!

What a difference a week makes!

On Valentine's Day Matt and I hung our first insulation.

Then the stomach bug took Matt out of commission for two days....so I finished the rest on my own. I was going for "Not horrific" when our contractor Moose came in the morning.

Fast forward a week.... Moose and Michael have worked so hard this week (as they always do) and the bedrooms look so much better.

Up next....painting and floors!

Let's try this again.....

The third time is the charm?

We have been trying some different formats to share our adventures here at The Farmhouse, but none has really worked the way we wanted. After much investigating, we decided to go with the blog format.  Sorry for the multiple emails, but hopefully this blog will help us to share what is going on without too many hiccups.

Here is the earliest photo we have of The Farmhouse (1939). The spec sheet shows that the property was originally used for raising hay and berries.  At this time, they had recently added the kitchen and 1 bathroom to the home.

This view is circa 1956. I love the front stairs and the squared off columns. Not much has changed in the last 59 years.
